The house

We are in contract on a house in Andover Hills in Lexington, it is the house I mentioned in a previous blog that was for sale by owner and the owner is a bit CRAZY! We close June 2nd which seems like a lifetime away, but we were finally able to spend some time in the house today during the inspection. I took a ton of pictures, sorry if this is too much.

Here is the outside of the house...

The backyard is actually pretty big. It is private with a few large trees in the back for added shade.

The stairs are in the entryway of the house

The dining room

This room is going to be Owen's playroom, hopefully we will keep it a little tidier than this owner.

Blogging delay

Owen is now 6 months old and is doing lots of new things. He can roll over both ways, sit up by himself, and he can say "ma-ma" and "da-da" (he still doesn't know what he is saying). He is also starting to get up on his hands and knees and looking like he is ready to crawl. I am really not ready for a mobile baby yet, at least not until we move into the new house.

We are in contract on a house, it is the house I wrote about in a previous blog that was listed for sale by owner. We are supposed to close on June 2nd as long as all goes well with the inspection. We are getting a little antsy to move out of this crowded townhouse with much of our things still in boxes in the garage. I will post some pictures of the new house once we go over for the inspection.

Brad and I had a very busy and fun weekend. Lisa and Eddie, our friends from college came into town from Knoxville, Tn. We went to a great dinner Friday night at Nick Ryan's and then went out on the town afterwards. We stayed out way too late so Brad and I will be playing catch on our sleep for weeks to come. Saturday we made it out to Keeneland despite the chilly weather and we had a great time losing money on the horse races. It was so nice to spend the weekend with such good friends, we can't wait for our annual lake trip in a few months!

Owen and I are in a mommy and baby swim class twice a week. Brad was able to come watch Owen hard at work in the pool this week. Baby O loves the pool and enjoys seeing his friends in class each week. I think this little guy is going to have a great time at the pool this summer!

Owen is becoming such a big boy and is eating solid foods three times a day. I am enjoying my new baby food processor and pureeing new things for Owen to eat. So far he has eaten pears, apples, bananas, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, avocado, and yogurt. Oh and his all time favorite, baby mum mums. Owen loves to eat and gets so excited when he sees food coming his way. He kicks his legs, grunts and shakes with excitement each time the spoon comes toward him.

We celebrated my nephew's 4th birthday last weekend at Gratz Park in Lexington. It was a pirate themed party and even Luke's daddy dressed the part...

Kentucky wins it all!!

It is a very exciting time to live in Lexington. The basketball team had a great end to an incredible season. Of course the championship game was at 9:30 on a Monday night which is about the time I usually close my eyes and fall asleep each evening. I made sure to get a nap in earlier that day so I could stay awake for the game.

Brad was in Wisconsin for work this week which made him beyond frustrated to miss out on the festivities of the big win. So I stayed the night at my sister's house (which is close to campus) and her husband agreed to watch all the boys while we went out on the town. Here is our idea of going out on the town...

we rode our bikes around to see the craziness on campus. All the bars and restaurants were packed and we decided to head back home to watch the game.

Kentucky pulled away with a big win! We were excited but too exhausted to do any celebrating. I guess this is what happens when you have kids, especially ones that still wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes.

The next day Owen and I decided to take a walk downtown to welcome the team back to Rupp Arena for their big celebration.

This is my kind of celebration - in between naps:). Tons of fans lined the streets while police escorted the buses into town. Hopefully we will experience this again in the near future. Go CATS!!
