We moved!!!!

We finally moved everything into the new house and have been here for a little over a week now. It is crazy to think that Owen has lived in 3 houses in his short life of 8 months old. We miss the location of our house in Columbus, being able to walk to bars and restaurants, farmer markets and the minor league baseball field. However we are really enjoying the conveniences of a newer home. There is a lot less maintenance and much more space. Here is a picture of us eating at the house for the first time.

We have been super busy since the move. We went to Louisville for my cousin Brent's wedding. It was such a special weekend. Brent and I grew up just around the corner from one another and he is more like a brother to me than a cousin. I enjoyed every moment of their wedding weekend. I love going to weddings where you can feel the love between the bride and groom and there was so much love in the air. Brent and his new wife Ashley are absolutley perfect for one another and we were honored to be a part of the weekend.

The wedding was at a beautiful seminary in Louisville and it was the perfect setting for a southern wedding.

Brad and I had a lot of fun exploring the city on Saturday with baby O.

We met PopPop and the rest of the fam at Hillbilly Tea for lunch.

Owen was a good traveler and he even started eating more solid food. He ate his first pancake, a french fry (thanks Uncle Rick), eggs, bran muffins and a bagel. This child is hungry all the time, I can hardly keep his tiny tummy full.

I stopped in Cincinnati to meet up with some of my favorite girls from Columbus. We had a fabulous time catching up (gossping) at lunch and a great time shopping. I miss you ladies so much!! I can't wait for Monica's wedding next month.

Owen's baptism

We celebrated Owen's baptism last weekend. Brad's family came in town for the weekend and we thought we would visit some places special to the area. We took a drive down old Frankfort Pike to see some of the most beautiful horse farms.

We ate lunch at an old train station - Wallace Station.

Then we headed to Woodford Reserve for a tour of the distillery and some bourbon samples.

Sunday was Owen's baptism. We go to St. Paul Catholic Church in downtown Lexington. Brad's brother Brian and sister Katie are Owen's Godparents. We are so happy they were able come down and spend the weekend with us. Thank you for loving Mr. O.

Owen had finally reached his limit here and was ready for a nap.

Finally closed on the house!

After being pushed around a bit by the current owner we finally closed on the new house yesterday. The owner has moved the date back 4 times we were shocked to see she actually showed up at the closing yesterday. We learned a lot of lessons throughout this process. We trusted too much in our realtor and the homeowner and really didn't check over our contract to make sure everything was spelled out in there. The owner verbally promised to have done a few things and of course when we show up to inspect the house before the closing they were not done. But it is partially our fault because we didn't make sure they were written in the contract. It is all minor stuff and we are truly very excited about our new house and neighborhood. Guess who our new neighbor will be.......the previous homeowner is purchasing a house in the same neighborhood, so we all need to remain friendly.

In other news, our baby Owen is crawling. He isn't really fast yet but he is definitely on the move and can get where he wants to go. It is funny, I don't think he fully understands that if he wants something across the room that he can actually go to it himself.

Owen has also learned to kiss mommy and daddy. He is so sweet!!

We had a great relaxing weekend. We really appreciated every moment of it because we are about to be super busy with the move and travel coming up over the next few weeks.

Week of fun

The weather has been so fantastic and we have been spending a lot of time outdoors. We took Owen to the pool last weekend, it was too hot outside so we spent some time in the pool.

We headed to Cincinnati this week to spend some time with Nana. Kristin and her boys joined us. We went to the zoo one day and met Grammy.

Owen loves his cousins!
He loves his auntie too!

We went to Nana's house and had some fun swimming and riding in the golf cart.

Owen loves eating his mum mums

First trip to the E.R.

Last Friday evening, we were going about our business. Owen was playing with one of his favorite toys. He had pulled himself up next to it and was pushing buttons when all of a sudden there was this big BANG followed by crying (which is all still normal), Owen falls all the time while playing with that toy. Brad picked him up to comsole him and Owen's body went limp, then he proceded to vomit all over Brad. This was not just a little bit of vomit and Owen was not acting like himself. We called the doctor and they said to take him to the emergency room. On the way there Owen continued to vomit a couple of more times. Needless to say this was one of my scariest moments as a mom.

We made it to the hospital and Owen had a fever of 102 degrees. They gave him some tylenol and some medicine to stop the vommiting. The doctors kept us in the ER for 4 hours to monitor him and after a short nap Owen was pretty much back to normal. The doctors wanted us to keep an eye on him for the next 48 hours to make sure he continued to act like himself.

We took this picture before we left the hospital once we were more confident that our babe was okay.
