Long month off

Hi readers! I'm not really sure how many people actually keep up with my blog besides my Grandma, hi GG! For those of you that do read, I apologize for the delay. We have been super busy lately with the move and some summer travels. Speaking of travels, this weekend we went to a city that is very near and dear to our hearts, Columbus. We came to Columbus for my friend Monica's wedding. It was so much fun spending the evening with some of my girlie friends. We had a great time catching up. Monica and I knew each other from University of Kentucky and then when we moved to Columbus, she soon followed (not us but her now husband Rob to Ohio). So we ended up teaching at the same school, and oddly enough right across the hall from each other. I miss Monica so much but she comes to Lexington often enough for me to get my Monica fix!

We also spent some time catching up with some of our other groups of friends. We had a cookout with the Graver's and the Niezgoda's. It was so much fun to see all of them, but it was especially fun to see Owen and baby Quinn play together. They are a month apart and Melinda and I spent all last summer pregnant, complaining of the discomforts of pregnancy, and discussing our concerns about labor and delivery.

While in town Brad and I went to see our first home, we are renting it out right now, so we weren't actually able to go inside to see it. We parked near the house and walked to our favorite coffee shop for breakfast and made some stops along the way at the neighborhood park. Grandview will always be a special place for us. We also got to stop in and see some of our old neighbors. It was great to be back it almost felt like we never left.

We stayed in a hotel downtown there was so much going on this weekend so it was great to be near all the action. One of our favorite things to attend in the summers is the Jazz and Ribs Festival. We got lucky and were able to literally walk across the street to the festival this year.

I even got to enjoy my favorite Italian Ice, Guiseppe's. Yum!

We had a lot of fun walking around the city exploring some of our old favorite spots. Columbus is such a great city and we miss it so much!
