Our Andover Home

We love our house in Lexington so much!  It is the perfect size for us right now and we have really made it our own.  Over the last three years we watched Owen grow into a preschooler in this home.  He said his first sentences, walked his first steps and became a big brother in this home.  I was pregnant with Grayson here, labored with him in my bedroom for many hours, nursed him, slept with him and loved him in this house.  It is going to be so sad for me to say goodbye but I will look forward to making many more memories in our next home.  I want to remember this house just the way it is right now so I thought I would share some photos with you.

We LOVE our backyard and have had so much fun here....

Brad's office/laundry room.  He is really looking forward to having his own office where he won't have the washer and dryer noise in the background of his phone calls anymore...

Our playroom - this is my favorite room in the house...

Master bedroom...
The little area in the back is where we had Grayson's nursery until he was about five months old....

Master bathroom...

 Owen's room...
Grayson's room - I really never decorated Grayson's room here because he was sleeping in my room for so long and after that I wasn't sure how much longer we would be here so I never got around to doing anything...
Guest bedroom...
 Guest bathroom...
This is the walkway to Jacobson Park.  In warmer weather we walk to this park almost every day - we throw the football, play tag and let the kids run wild.  We love having this park just a few steps away from our house...
The 13th hole at the Andover Golf Course is just across the street.  This is where we watch the fireworks with all of our neighborhood friends.  We will miss being in a golf course community....
So there you have it - we are saying a lot of prayers that this transition goes smoothly, that we sell our house quickly and the boys adjust well to the move.

We're Moving.....again!!

This post is something I have been meaning to write for a while now.  If you haven't noticed we have been spending a lot of time in Indianapolis lately.  That is because, we are moving there.  Back to my original home state we go!  Bring on the John Deere tractors...

and cornfields....

We aren't exactly moving to the country.  We are moving to Carmel - a suburb on the north side of Indianapolis.  Here are a couple of photos from downtown Carmel, looks a little different than the beautiful cornfields of Indiana.

We have known about the move since mid-October.  There were some changes at Brad's work with his territory which is actually a positive change for him.  And we have always known that it was possible we wouldn't be able to stay in Kentucky due to the health care economy in this area.  Lexington has and always will hold a special place in our hearts.  We went to school here...

We met here...

fell in love here...

and got married here...

Leaving a place so special to us is not easy and there are so many other serious downsides to this move.  We will be moving away from my sister, Tim, Max and Luke.  Kristin is my best friend, Tim is one of Brad's best friends and of course my boys love and adore their cousins Max and Luke.  We spend a lot of time with them and we enjoy every second of it!  I always pictured us living here and raising our boys together.  But with modern technology and lots of vacation plans.  We will try to see one another as often as possible.

And of course we will miss spending snow days with our favorite cousins!!

We have also made some of the greatest friends in Lexington!  We have such a wonderful group of neighbors and Owen goes to school with all of his buddies from the neighborhood.  We love our little Andover community so much!  I don't know what I would have done without the mom's I've met along the way.
We will miss pool days with our besties...

our annual 3rd of July party...

walks and bike rides to circle park in the afternoons...

and we will just truly miss being a few steps away from our friends and watching our sweet little ones grow up together as we had planned....

I will be so sad to leave my first mommy friend - Laura and her family.  I met Laura for the first time at mommy and baby pilates and then Owen and Ellie had their first and second swim class together....

We used to push these tiny creatures in our joggers and actually get a workout in...
We have shared in many fun play dates with these two....

And with our second babies - who are only 6 weeks apart....
So with that said - leaving this town of ours is not going to be easy.  But I think we will love being in a bigger city with more to offer.  I will be closer to my dad, stepmom and grandma as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.  So that will be a huge benefit.  I will also be closer to my 3 best friends from high school.  They don't live in Carmel but will be between 30-60 minutes away.

We are looking forward to spending a lot of time at the children's museum...

We have lived in Lexington for almost exactly 3 years to the day now.  And you know what is crazy? I actually posted about our plans to move here exactly 3 years ago.  What a coincidence!  I don't feel as excited about this move to Indianapolis as I did three years ago, but I feel like it is the right decision for our family as well as a great city to raise our growing boys in.
Here is my very first blog post about our move to the bluegrass state. http://www.bluegrassbabie.blogspot.com/2012/01/kentucky-bound.html

As I was writing this blog today - we put an offer on a house and it was accepted.  We have 45 days until closing.  The next 45 days will probably be spent cleaning, packing, stressing out, yelling at my children and not sleeping.  So if you see me I apologize in advance and if anyone wants to borrow two little boys, please feel free to take them!  Fingers crossed that we sell our house quickly, inspections go well on both ends and we can transition easily.  Here is a picture of our future home...
