We have had so many great opportunities to trick or treat this year.
First we went to Hallzooween at the Cincinnati zoo to meet our cousins there one last time before the cold weather hits...
The kiddos got to dress up and go trick or treating at the zoo. They had a fabulous time!
Last weekend we went to Clay Terrace for their boo n' brew. They had kids activities, trick or treat stations, live music, beer on tap and hayrides. The boys got dressed up and had a great time at the festivities.
Owen went to a class through the Carmel Parks and Rec department - we often send him to these classes when they have special events. This class was a spooky Halloween one so Owen and Lilly and Stella went together. They were so cute!
Of course Grayson ran right up to Owen for a hug.
Every time Owen leaves this class he comes home with a huge smile on his face and tells me all the things they did or learned about that morning. The teachers are the best - so energetic and sweet with the kiddos.
My playgroup had a trunk or treat at our neighborhood park - all the kids got dressed up and went trick or treating at each of the cars' trunks. It was so cold outside that the kids did not last long but we pushed through - you can't tell in this picture but 10 of the 15 cars in the parking lot were Honda Odyssey mini vans. It is the funniest thing but I swear 80% of moms in Carmel drive that vehicle.
I am currently pushing for a mini van but I think I will go against the herd and buy a Toyota. The mini van is just so practical for a mom with little ones. Sorry to disappoint.
For our final Halloween activity our neighborhood held a Halloweenies party before trick or treating began. They made hot dogs for the kiddos and had food for the adults too. Most of the kids started the trick or treating together at this time.
Of course the adults came prepared with our wagons and coolers.
Here are some of the kiddos that came early to the party - we were a little late so we didn't get in the shot.
The boys had so much fun going door to door this year, Grayson was on fire at the first few houses then he got distracted by the candy in his bag. By about the 8th house Grayson was saying that he was "all done". But we had several more stops to make so we had to force him to keep going.
Owen and his buddy/next door neighbor Nolan...
One of our neighbors hired a barista and had their own coffee/hot chocolate stand in their garage...
Our friends and neighbors Sarah and Dan had a special Halloween camper set up in their driveway. The kids had their own little after party inside.
After it was all said and done one of our kind neighbors invited some of us over to let the kids wear down their sugar rush and provided the adults with some appetizers and after dinner drinks. We really have such a great neighborhood! I loved our neighborhood in Lexington but the neighbors here in Springmill Ponds are such a close knit group of people and we have all really gotten to know one another over the past several months. We really lucked out with the neighborhood we chose to live in!
We leave for Disney on Monday and Owen is counting down the minutes at this point. He is so excited, I just hope Grayson can keep up!
