Beautiful Spring Days

We have finally been feeling the warmth of the sunshine again and have been able to walk around the yard with no shoes on to feel the grass beneath our feet.  It is so nice after such a LONG and drawn out winter.  Thankfully the warm weather came at a perfect time to enjoy many fun things around Lexington.

First up, playtime with our neighbors...

Our friends had a cookout before the final four game, we were pretty excited and all the kids were dressed in blue to cheer for their favorite Wildcats!  We won that game and it was on to the championship.  Grayson even learned the UK chant...
Sadly we lost the championship game, I thought we had it in the bag.  Maybe next year.

On to more fun outdoors....Daddy played his first kickball game of the season at Jacobson Park....
These boys were too interested in Grayson to play attention to the game.

Next, feeding the ducks at Jacobson...

Then we went to Breakfast with the Babies.....

We bought tickets to this event a couple of months ago, we heard so many good things about it and knew Owen would love it.  It is a breakfast at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.  After you eat in the dining area of this historic hotel, you can walk around the beautiful grounds and pet baby animals, sometimes they even let you feed the animals.

We met up with some friends and had a derby race...

How cute are these three kiddos?  We have known one another since they were 6 months old, just babies!

Then it was off to see more animals...

This was such a perfect activity to kick off the beginning of spring.

After breakfast with the babies, everyone was wiped out so we went home to nap.  After we (and I mean all four of us) rested, we walked to Jacobson Park for Kite Fest.

These two love each other SO much!  They giggled the whole walk to the park.
Our friends Eddie and Lisa came in for the weekend from Tennessee, they went Keeneland in the morning and came to kite fest with us afterwards.  Owen and Grayson LOVED having baby Natalie at our house to play.  I am sure they will fight over this gorgeous lady one day.

We then went to our first birthday party at the park this year - to celebrate this little guy's second birthday.....

Then after wearing shorts and sandals all weekend, I woke up to this Tuesday morning...

The warm weather is returning soon and we have many things to look forward to this Easter weekend!!

Family Travels

We have been a busy traveling family lately.  We haven't traveled with both boys but one time since Grayson was born so we decided it was time to make our rounds and visit family and friends in Ohio and Indiana.
First stop was Piqua, Ohio to visit the Drapp family.  It was a beautiful weekend, the first in a while so we spent time outside, going to the park, riding bikes, and blowing bubbles.

Grayson's first time on the swing and he LOVED it!!

Then we visited with Grandpa Fankhouser (looking dapper as always)...

And Grandpa Drapp (who recently had stints put in his heart and was up and running like his old self).....

 Four generations of Drapp boys....

Owen showed us his talent by yelling at the top of his lungs and playing the piano - a beautiful rendition to the theme song of "Dinosaur Train"....

Brad even got to spend time with his friends from high school, honoring this amazing man who is leaving for Afghanistan...

After our trip to Ohio we headed home, Brad got back to work and the next week we were off to visit the Prather family in Indiana.  Again we had beautiful weather so we spent a great deal of time outdoors at my dad and Karen's new/old farm house.  Owen got to ride the mini tractor, play soccer with his cousins (Max and Luke were also in Indiana for their spring break), and sit on the four-wheeler.  Owen wanted nothing to do with riding it when it came time to actually turned on...

We visited with GG - Grayson's new favorite friend...

And I got to spend some time with my girlfriends for a quick dinner at the local Chili's...
The next day we had to say goodbye to Pop Pop (you can tell by Owen's expression that he wasn't happy)...
And we headed to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.....

We met Kristi, Jenna and their two little ladies, Sophia and Julia for a big day of fun...

Owen loved all of the exhibits, we saw dinosaurs...

Owen and Sophia loved the train exhibit and each other...

We played on their amazing water table which even had its own waterfall (much more elaborate than the Lexington Children's Museum)...

There were so many cool things to see and do, we could have spent all day...

But this little guy was worn out and ready to head home to see daddy...

We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone but there really and truly is no place like home!!
