Christmas Celebration

We had a ton of fun celebrating this year with our little family.  Owen was very interested in everything Christmas.  Which made it more exciting for all of us.  We have a lot of family all around so we had many holiday celebrations to attend.  First up was Christmas with the Drapp family….

The Drapp's came down on Saturday morning and we planned a nice dinner at our house with beef tenderloin (a Drapp family tradition) and presents to follow….

Owen was so excited to receive his very own version of the Steam Train Dream Train book from Mimi and Poppy.  It is one of his favorites and I claim it a must read for toddlers.

Here is Owen checking out daddy's new popcorn popper.

Owen loves his baby brother and wearing their new matching jammies from Mimi.

After the Drapp family left it was time get ready for Christmas Eve.  We wanted to go to the children's mass at our church which started at 4:00.  I was a little worried Owen wouldn't have a good nap before mass and we would struggle to get there on time or have a monster of a child at church.  Owen finally fell asleep 30 minutes before it was time to wake him up, however he wasn't a total monster at church and lasted about an hour and 20 minutes before asking to go home.

Luke had a solo in the children's choir - he sang beautifully and Max played Joseph during mass.

We made it to mass on time!  Now that is impressive!!

I brought many snacks to keep Owen occupied.

After mass we went to Tim and Kristin's for dinner and then home to snuggle in bed and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas".

This was a picture from last year's Christmas Eve reading.

We are happy to have added this little guy to our bed this year!!

On Christmas morning we woke up bright and early to see what Santa brought…

I spy a Pete the Cat puppet coming from Owen's stocking - another must read book for toddlers.

Dewey's last morning with us - looks like he helped Santa eat some of the cookies.

Look at this pretty present from Santa

Owen's favorite toys from Christmas morning were his hot wheels cars - keep that in mind for next year Santa.  I think he would have been happy with just a few cars for Christmas.

Owen is showing Grayson some of his new prizes.

Christmas morning is exhausting!
Christmas night we went over to Marc and Meg's house for another Christmas celebration.  Owen had a great time playing with all of his big cousins.

The next day we left for Indiana.  I had not traveled in a LONG time due to the pregnancy and having a newborn.  It was much more difficult keeping two kids happy and napping at the appropriate times on a long car ride.

Owen was very excited to go over a bridge - just like Thomas the Train.

While in Indiana we met up with some of my friends from high school.

Then we went to my younger step sister's wedding in Brown County.  It was a beautiful place for a wedding on a cold winter day.

Danielle looked so beautiful!!  I can't believe she is married - the last one of all five girls to be married off.

After the ceremony we went down for the reception - everyone had a great time!!

Owen and Luke had so much fun tearing up the dance floor.  We stayed out and didn't get Owen to bed until after 10:30.  He has been catching up on sleep ever since.

The next day we had Christmas breakfast at my Grandma's house - I didn't get any good pictures except this one of Luke and Owen reading together in GG's chair.

After breakfast we headed to my dad and Karen's house for an early dinner and another Christmas celebration.  Again I didn't get any good pictures, I wish I would have because their house is amazing.  Last summer they purchased an old farmhouse and literally tore it down to the studs for renovating.  They did the designing and a lot of the work themselves, they make a great team.  It will be a great place for the kids to explore the outdoors this summer!

My stepmom Karen and Dorena with Grayson…

My auntie Dorena - love her!
My cousin Brent and his wife Ashley.

It was nice to see everyone in Indiana, but I am glad to be back in our own beds.  After all of our Christmas celebrations it was time to celebrate New Year's Eve - kid's style that is.

We went to the Oakley's house (one of our neighbors) and were back at home and in bed by 9:30.  I definitely did not stay up for the ball to drop this year.  I have to take advantage of a sleeping baby when I can.

Owen LOVES the Oakley's new trampoline in their basement.
