Easter Celebration

We had such a great week of beautiful weather which came at the perfect time for one of our favorite holidays, Easter.  We started the week with an Easter egg hunt at Owen's school.  It was the first of four that he would complete this week.

With the mention of what Owen might find inside his eggs, he was grasping the idea of this Easter Egg hunt thing pretty quickly.

Here is the playground where the egg hunt was held at Owen's school...

 So serious...
He LOVES the Easter basket he made - isn't it cute?!

The second Easter egg hunt was in our neighborhood.  We decided to do this one in an open field with some of our little neighbor buddies.
We lined the kids across the sidewalk before doing a countdown, then it was every man for himself.

Fun times with our little buddies...

The third egg hunt was at the neighborhood country club.  We got to meet the Easter bunny for the first time and hunt for eggs.

Hanging out with his ladies...

Owen's favorite part of this egg hunt was getting to play on the putting green afterwards...

Owen and Grayson woke up Sunday morning to an Easter basket with some goodies inside.  And yes, he is wearing Christmas jammies, oops!

We dressed the boys in their Sunday best (of course we didn't get a photo) and went to Mass on Easter Sunday.  We were looking forward to hearing Luke and Ellie sing in the church choir...

Mass didn't exactly go as planned, we were a little distracted by our two boys who didn't cooperate during the hour long service.  The bribing of Easter candy and the excitement of toys were wearing out, Owen had to be taken out about 30 minutes after Mass started.  By the time I left with Grayson who was ready to eat and take a nap, Owen was laying on the sidewalk outside of church throwing a bit of tantrum.  This is the life with a two year old, we are hoping to be forgiven for our absence in church lately.  It just isn't the easiest thing to force two boys who have different nap schedules to sit and be quiet during an hour and 15 minute service.  This is only a phase, right?!?

Then on to the next part of our day, our fourth and final Easter egg hunt and brunch with the Majors.  We were so lax about this one that everyone hunted eggs with plastic baggies and I would say it was probably Owen's favorite egg hunt yet.  The older kids were showing him the ropes and he was having a great time!

Even Grayson got in on the action...

We had a great first Easter as a family of four.  These boys are keeping us busy but it is so much fun to see Owen and Grayson experience things for the first time.
