December Happenings

We have been learning a lot of christmas songs this holiday season. Owen's very favorite new tune is jingle bells.  I catch him singing this song to himself while he is playing in the playroom or supposed to be asleep in his crib.  What are we going to do when Christmas is over?  We will have to learn some new songs.

We have been busy celebrating the holiday season all month long.  First up on our holiday schedule was Owen's school performance.  It was absolutely adorable!

Owen seemed a little nervous to be on stage at first, but when he saw his sweet friend Claire, he was much happier.

Next Owen had his school holiday party.  I helped plan the party this year which was a lot of fun.  We made glass ornaments, which Owen has already broken two of them.  This is the exact reason we do not have ornaments on our tree this year (I'm also feeling a little lazy). We decorated Christmas trees and had some yummy snacks.  The kids had a ton of fun!

I brought these holiday props so the kids could dress up like Santa, an elf, or a reindeer.  It was really cute but none of the two year olds could stand still long enough for a picture.

After we ate, Ms. Melissa and Ms. Tammy gave everyone a book and a CD with all of their favorite classroom songs, such a great idea!

Then they sang the bear hunt song for all the parents to see.  This is Owen's favorite!

After all of that fun we went to Southern Lights at the Kentucky Horse Park.  Owen had a fabulous time!

They had an indoor train exhibit, featuring a Thomas the Tank train.

Owen's favorite part was riding on the train around the park to see some of the lights.

We even caught a glimpse at Santa's reindeer.

This is what Grayson did on our trip.

By the end of the evening Owen put his hand up and said "no more pictures mommy".

Each month we go to music class hosted by a different mom each time.  The theme this month was winter wonderland - the host, Elizabeth showed off her crafty side with cute decorations and holiday themed snacks for everyone to enjoy.  All the kiddos were asked to wear their Christmas jammies, they sang Christmas tunes, and the music teacher, Ms. Sarah incorporated cute holiday themed props into the class. Owen had a great time!

One of the more exciting things that happened this month…
Yay Grayson!  Although 7 hours only happened once when he was 5 weeks old, he is consistently sleeping for one 6 hour stretch every night.  I feel rested and have much more energy.  I haven't even taken a nap in over 2 weeks.  My life is starting to get back to normal.
