Marvelous May

The weather has been amazing here in Lexington and we have been taking advantage and trying to do everything we have waited all winter long to do.

Like eating ice cream...

Going to the zoo...

We have been talking all winter long about the train at the zoo and how we can't wait to ride it.  When we got there Owen said he didn't want to ride, but I forced him on the train thinking he would eventually love it once we started going.
Nope, this is pretty much what he looked like the entire ride.  He was throwing such a tantrum that he kicked his shoe off during the train ride and one of the employees had to walk down the train track after the ride was over to find his shoe.  I don't think I will force him to ride the train again for a while.
The rest of the day was really fun, we had a nice day seeing all of the animals.

Owen's favorite animal was the Gorillas and the monkeys.

Grayson slept through most of the zoo...
But he was pretty happy to see Daddy once he woke up...

 Look at this handsome dude...
The following week was Owen's school performance, it was pretty cute - except for the fact that Owen was SCARED OUT OF HIS MIND.  He looked like he was going to cry during the entire performance and actually tried to run off stage at one point.
This picture is blurry but here is one of Owen's teachers carrying him back to the stage when he decided he wanted to walk off.
He didn't cry like his buddy Brady and he held it together although he looked pretty miserable.

Me and my two boys - I love them so...

Owen and his first school buddy, AJ.  AJ is almost a full year older than Owen which is one of the reasons there is such a height difference.  AJ is moving up to the three year old room while we are keeping Owen in the 2 year old room with the kids he will be going to kindergarten with according to his birthday.  Owen will miss his buddy so much!

We celebrated Owen's last day of preschool with a pool party on the school lawn.  The kids had a blast!

Here is Owen with his teachers, we will miss them this summer but they are supposed to be Owen's teachers again next year so it wasn't really a goodbye.  Owen was coming down with a pretty terrible cold so he wasn't super happy on his last day.
It is finally warm enough to run around the yard naked - but Owen makes sure to keep his shoes on...

The boys got matching swim trunks for opening weekend at the pool...

 Finally a good picture...

We joined the neighborhood country club this year - it was a tough decision but you can't beat the convenience of being able to drive a couple of minutes away and be at the pool.  We have already been there 7 times and it just opened Memorial Day weekend.
And finally we have a swimmer - Owen LOVES the pool!  Last year we had to force Owen to get in the water kicking and screaming, this year he decided on his own to get in and now we have to force him out of the water each time we leave.

Owen and his buddies love to swim together....

Owen loves his sweet friend Claire aka: KIKI...

Even Max got to come to the pool with us - no he's not drowning, I promise.
Grayson also loves the pool, but he plays in it for about an hour and then he is tired and ready for a catnap...

While we have been spending most of our free time at the pool, we have also been enjoying dinners on the back deck...

Taking the boys to the putting green...

Working on new accomplishments, Grayson started pulling himself up in his crib (yikes)...

Going to our favorite bookstore...

Still not crawling - but I would bet it will be any day now...
Mowing the lawn for the first time...

Visiting the local Firestation...

Attending our last day of gymnastics class, it was a great winter activity but now that it is warm we are happy to have the extra day to play outside.

Look at how much our babies have grown since the beginning of gymnastics to the end...

Grayson's bottom two teeth came in and he has been super whiny and clingy.  We have been taking a lot of naps together and sleeping together at night sometimes.  I'm SO ready for him to start feeling better so I can get a good night sleep without a little baby sleeping on top of me.

Well that is it for our Marvelous month of May.  I'm so excited summer is finally here and we can enjoy all of the warm weather activities that we have been waiting all winter long for.
