Cornfest 2012

Each year we buy several dozen ears of corn, husk, cook, and freeze it in small bags to use all winter long. This year we bought 18 dozen ears of corn. Some people may think this sounds ridiculous when you can buy frozen corn at the grocery store. However being from Indiana I have to say that there is nothing better than the taste of sweet corn on the cob all year round. And it is always fun to have an excuse to spend the day with my mom and sister. I took some pictures to document the process.

After husking, getting ready to boil.

Boil...

Place the corn in ice....

Time to cut the kernels off the cob.

Now time to freeze

Love these ladies!

Owen enjoyed playing with his cousins while we worked.

Here is a photo from last year's cornfest, I was 8 months pregnant.
