My Three Year Old Baby...

Owen is no longer my baby....

He is a true toddler and doing new big boy things every day.  He started using the potty regularly, however he is still not wearing underwear.  We are taking this potty training thing one step at a time.  However Owen could probably stop wearing diapers during the day and be pretty well potty trained.  I am just waiting and letting him take the lead.

Besides the potty, Owen has started sleeping in a big boy bed.  Last week told us that he wanted to sleep in his big bed, so we went with it and he did great!  We had been talking to him about it for months and honestly I wasn't ready to move him because I was worried he wouldn't sleep as well as he does in his crib.  But when he said he was ready I didn't want to discourage him so we let him.  He has been sleeping through the night and actually napping better in this bed.  I even snuck a few pictures of the sweet sleeper...

We celebrated Owen's birthday with his friends a week early but wanted to make his actual birthday special so we celebrated as a family with a special breakfast.  I made funfetti pancakes and put colorful sprinkles in the pancake mix.  I did the same last year for his birthday and have decided to make this our birthday tradition....

So we sang happy birthday to the big boy and then let him open his presents....

We got him a fireman costume - which is also his Halloween costume and Grayson picked out some emergency vehicles to go with it.  Owen was pretty excited!

 During our special birthday breakfast I asked Owen a list of questions that I plan to ask him on each birthday following this one so we can compare the answers each year and see how our little man has changed.

3.  What is your favorite movie?  - Cars and Planes
4.  What is your favorite thing to wear?  - fireman outfit
(Do you notice a theme here - he was so wrapped up in the presents we just gave him that his answers were all about cars, and firemen)
5.  What is your favorite animal?  - monkeys
6.  What is your favorite book?  - The Sea Creatures Book
7.  Who is your best friend?  - Kiki
8.  What is favorite snack?  popcorn
9.  What is your favorite fruit?  - oranges
10.  What is your favorite breakfast?  - sprinkle pancakes
11.  What is your favorite lunch?  - french fries from Chik Fil A
12.  What do you want to be when you grow up?  - a plane
13.  What do you sleep with at night?  - other baby (his original giraffe)
14.  What are you afraid of?  - monsters in the dark
15.  What do you do really well?  - made an owl at school
16.  What is your favorite thing to do with mom and dad?  - play a sand game (I have no idea what he is talking about)
17.  What makes you proud?  - going on the potty
18.  What makes you feel sad?  - Crying
19.  What did you dream about last night?  - dogs
20.  What makes you happy?  - Mommy (my favorite answer ever! - I promise I didn't prompt him)
